Two weeks ago I was fortunate enough to have my name drawn to be one of 5 VIP readers of Rougebeauty.co.za, to attend a readers event for the beauty launch of Benefit Cosmetics in South Africa.

On a particularly rainy Friday we gathered in Edgars, Canal walk  to  see what fabulousness will be unleashed onto South African shores! And boy- oh – boy we were in for a treat! The Benefit stall shone like a cotton candy pink oasis in the see of stark white, cosmetic stalls, demanding everyone’s attention as they passed by!You could not miss it!Fun, flirty and oh-so- cute the stall, staff and packaging of the cosmetics won me over right away!I felt like the proverbial kid in a candy shop! With names like fake up concealer, confessions of a concealaholic, puff off, hoola blush, roller lash and gimme brow we knew that this is no ordinary make- up brand.

As the lucky VIP’s we were treated to goody bags, cupcakes, lovely drinks and the choice of either having your brows done at the famous Benefit Brow bar or you could have your make- up done. The lovely Lauren Engel showed us the ropes with some of the brands most famous products and gave us nifty tips on how to do make up and demonstrated the instant results that you see from these products. One of Benefit’s motto’s is “Fake it till you make it” and they have the products to help you to do just that! I am terrified of facial waxing, and I really wanted to see some of the products which I was interested in tested on me, so I had my make -up done!

Benefit Cosmetics is unapologetically girly, feminine and just over the top glamorous! They even have their own Benifesto, it reads like this:

We believe in whistling while you work it…And faking it till you make it.We believe in fast and fabulous beauty solutions and that glamour is grabbing life by the giggles and not letting go.We believe in at first you don’t succeed…apply more lipstick. That sexy gets you everywhere and if you can’t be good, be gorgeous . We believe that laughter is the best cosmetic.

If that doesn’t put a smile on your face then I don’t know what will! The great thing about these products are that they aren’t only the best to look at , but they do the work. They pay on their promise! It’s really value for money!

In our goody bag, we received the cutest passport holder, benefit triple action face emulsion for normal to dry skin, some they’re real mascara and porefessional primer. I was lucky enough to win a prize for best social media posts and won, a fabulous bag, mirror, full sized They’re re mascara and eyeliner!

I loved the products, I loved the store and whole feel and experience of the day and I have been back after the event and it was still just as great. If you want to treat yourself to some girly delights or want to have your brows and/or eyelashes done, head over to your nearest Benefit stockists and enjoy the feeling of being a Benebabe! I know that I do!

Lots of love
